2016 Photonics Taiwan Welcomes A New Automotive Era

 

The 25rd Photonics Taiwan (PFT) platform, which combines the OPTO Taiwan, LED Lighting Taiwan, Solar Taiwan, Optics Taiwan, Display Taiwan and the concurrent Plant Factory Taiwan, is now inaugurated at Taipei World Trade Center Nangang Exhibition Hall. A total of 375 exhibitors with more than 800 booths gathers together for explore enormous business opportunities.

This year, PIDA works with Taiwan Transportation Vehicle Manufacturer Association (TTVMA) and Taiwan LED Lighting Alliance (TLLIA) to create a new topic: the :Automotive Photonics; zone. Besides, PFT also comprises specialized zones related to technologies such as plant factory, biophotonics, photovoltaic, 3D printing, and nanotechnology to promote green life, ecological awareness, and sustainability.

For exhibitors, PIDA invite more than 20 international buyers for one-to-one business meeting. Buyers coming from leading markets such as the US, Japan, Mainland China, India, Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, and France, they bring not only the first-hand information but also business opportunities.
 
 

Statistics of Taiwan・s Display Panel Industry

 

The annual total output value of Taiwan's display panel industry in 2015 was estimated at NT$ 1,254.4 billion and 46 million with an annual decrease rate of about 11.7% as compared to the total annual output value of NT$1,420.3 billion and 2 million in 2014. It is estimated that the output value of Taiwan・s panel display industry in 2016 will be NT$1,179.6 billion and 5 million with an overall annual decrease rate of about 6%. Looking further ahead, it is estimated that in 2018, Taiwan・s panel display industry output value will be NT$ 1,080.5 billion and 4 million with an annual output value decrease rate of about 4.2%. The estimates of the annual output value of Taiwan・s panel display industry as a whole in 2015 is shown in Figure 1.

The annual output value of Taiwan's display panel industry in 2015 showed a negative growth. The above-mentioned subcategories all showed the minus growth of the display panel sub-industries, an indication that Taiwan・s panel display industry is facing a great challenge.

The annual output value of Taiwan・s LCD panel and module annual output value in 2015 was estimated to be NT$ 802.7billion and 79 million for an annual decrease rate of about 12.5% as compared to the 2014 annual output value of NT $ 917.6 billion and 96 million.It is estimated that the annual output value of Taiwan・s LCD panels and modules in 2016 will be NT$740.1 billion and 6 million, the output value of the annual decrease rate of about 7.8%.

Taiwan Color Optics (TCO), nominated by CTSP, won the Grand Prize of ASPA Awards 2015.

The purpose of ASPA Awards is to encourage start-up or growing companies with excellent business strategy, innovated technology development, high management performance, and great prospects.
